Raw Footage #2
Positives -
I think that parts of the lip syncing are clear and easy to understand when they will be matched up with the lyrics of the song. I believe the choice of costume was a good idea because the connotations of red is love which relates to the narrative of the song.
Negatives -
The camera work is not steady when trying to film a tracking shot, next time I will take a dolly with me if I am planning o filming a tracking shot. Also, the lighting is very dark in some areas, next time I will take a specialist light that can fit on top of the camera in stead of using a mobile phones flash light.

Raw Footage #1
Positives -
I filmed my first piece of raw footage in my first location of a bedroom. One good thing I did in my first piece of raw footage is making it conventional to pop music, for example my artist was dressed in bright colours, also I tried to create a narrative through props and acting, for example I wanted it to look like my artist was getting upset about his break up. Also, my raw footage was conventional through the use of lip syncing, even though the lip syncing wasn't the best as you couldn't clearly see the lines that were being sung, it was still attempted. There was also a variety of shots used from different angles.
Things learnt for next time -
Camera work was unsteady as a piece of the tripod that fixes camera to it was missing, lip syncing wasn't clear enough, even though the colour of costume was conventional I don't think the outfit choice was, for a more of a serious topic of song I don't think the artist would be wearing shorts.
I will take all these positives and negative things into account when I am next filming.

Post Planning and Research
Brief -
This task wasn't that difficult because I already knew what I wanted to do when I read all the briefs, so it was just a case of picking what song I wanted to create my music video for.
Chosen Song -
I took a while picking my song, because I couldn't decide on which genre I wanted to do it for, I eventually chose Sam Smiths 'Stay With Me', because I feel like my ideas for shot types of a music video best suited a pop genre music video, so it was just a case of choosing which song I wanted and I went with Sam Smiths 'Stay With Me'.
Codes and Conventions of Genre -
This wasn't a task that was challenging on the mind, because the conventions of pop I think are quite easy to pick out, because any pop music video you watch they all use the same or similar conventions. However, the challenging part about this piece of work was the time frame because I wanted to make sure I had existing music videos which showed certain conventions, so caused me to spend longer on the task than I wanted to.
Codes and Conventions of an Album Release Poster & Digipak -
It wasn't had picking out the codes and conventions on the posters and digipaks, however if found it difficult to explain why they had used these, because each artist had used some of them for specific reason, because it related to their price of work. This caused me to spend longer on the task to make sure I got it finished to the best of my ability.
Lyric Analysis -
This wasn't to difficult, because Sam Smiths lyrics clearly tell a story, so I suggested reason to why he may have included certain lyrics.
Genre Theory -
Wasn't a difficult task because this was done as a class, I just changed my notes to a presentation so it looked aesthetically acceptable.
Synopsis -
I found this task hard because it was the first time I had to really think about what I was going to include in my music video in detail, for example I had to think about location I would shoot in, the camera shot I would use, what my characters would be doing in the shots. However, I feel like I did the best of my ability in this task considering I hadn't really thought to much about my music video.
Audience Research -
First I asked 25 people to fill in my survey, later I would transfer these results into a presentation, I show the results in charts and graphs for each question and say what the results suggest. I found creating the presentation hard because I didn't want all my results to be displayed as bar charts and pie graphs, because I thought that would get boring after a while, so even though I mainly used bar charts and pie graphs I did change the format of the results occasionally.
I also created mood boards that relate pop in some way, be this through locations pop music videos could be shot at, or pop artists, or colours associated with pop.
Cinematography -
This wasn't to hard, because I just explained what cinematography is and gave examples of types of cinematography and the gave examples of where they are used in existing music videos.
Animatic -
I went out in my group took some different shots you would find in a music video and then I had to edit them together. I found this difficult because I have never edited a video together, so until I became comfortable with the software I was using to put this video together, I found this task difficult.
Mood Board -
I found this difficult because I ran out of ideas of shots I could use in my music video, however I did a bot of research into other pop music videos and this helped create the extra shots that I needed to bring my story together.
Artist Identity & Costume Design -
Again wasn't a difficult task, but was time consuming, because I had to create designs for potential names of potential artists, also I had to create mood boards of potential clothing that could be worn in my music video, also all the clothing seen in the mood boards I took photos of, because the clothing is from my wardrobe.
Health & Safety -
I thought of the potential risks and hazards involved when filming a music video, I said what they could cause, who they could effect, and control measure to stop them. It wasn't hard task.

Health & Safety
I have created a health & safety grid, because it is something that I can print off and give to the people involved in the shooting of my music video, because it makes them aware of the potential hazards involved in the shooting of my music video. This could reduce the risk of someone's health and safety being harmed in the shooting of my music video, because people have been made aware so they can look out for these hazards.
I have only created one health & safety grid for the whole of the shooting of my music video and not for each location that will shot at in my music video, because I feel like the hazards will be the same in each location as most of my locations are outdoors, even though they are different locations they present the same hazards.

Story Board
Made with Storyboard That]
Made with Storyboard That
Made with Storyboard That
Made with Storyboard That
Made with Storyboard That
The chorus will essentially repeat itself, because it is conventional in a music video to do this, however there will be a few changes in my chorus because I don't want my music video to become boring because I am repeating everything I am doing for the chorus, so I may change the locations and camera shots that I use through out the chorus
Potential changes in the chorus -
